Our company was founded in 1927 by Roderick J. Henderson, Sr. Henderson was a restaurant owner in Rosslyn, Virginia with ice distribution services throughout the metropolitan area. After numerous requests to utilize his trucks to move colleagues and friends, Henderson's entrepreneurial drive and spirit led him to open Arlington, Virginia's (now) oldest moving company.

BACKLIGHT In 1937 most of Arlington County's businesses were of the service variety: grocery stores, laundries, etc. Entrepreneur Roderick Henderson Sr.'s business was sevice-driven, and then some.
Henderson's got started on 1317 N. 19th St. in Rosslyn, in 1927, delivering ice and coal to Northwest Washington.
There was also Henderson's Express and Transfer, which offered moving services and operated out of the same site, and if that wasn't enough there was a 40-foot counter where you could order a hot dog or a bowl of beans.

No matter what your storage needs Henderson's can accommodate you.
Our warehouse is under 24 hour a day security and is not a public warehouse.
Only our moving crews have access to the storage area.
Your belongings are inventoried to insure what you store with us is delivered in the same shape and condition as it was received.
Once your items are delivered to the warehouse the inventory is checked and your belongings are padded and stacked in your storage unit by our professional staff.
No matter what your storage needs Henderson's can accommodate you.

If you do plan on packing china yourself use the appropriate China Barrel or Dishpack carton.
Use separators and dividers and plenty of paper.
Remember to stack dishes standing on edge and wrap each piece separately.

Don't forget to empty desk drawers and remove anything breakable or spillable from furniture.
It is ok to leave light miscellaneous clothing in your dresser drawers.
